Clipboard history for Windows
Everything you copy, one shortcut away.
Imbak quietly remembers the text you copy. Press Ctrl Shift V, type a few letters, press Enter, and it's pasted right where you were. Nothing ever leaves your PC.
Free. Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit. Coming soon to the Microsoft Store.
How it works
Copy as usual. Find it in a second.
Copy anything
Imbak starts with Windows, runs in the notification area and saves the text you copy in any app. It uses no CPU while it waits.
Press Ctrl Shift V
A small window opens over what you're doing, newest copies first. Type to search everything you've saved.
Press Enter
Imbak pastes it straight into the app you were using. If Windows won't allow that, it tells you and keeps it ready to paste.
Search that keeps up
Matches any part of the text, in any language, as you type. Thousands of items search instantly.
Favorites and snippets
Star what you reuse so it's never cleared, and save named snippets like an address or a signature.
Made for real work
Links, code, commands and colours are recognised at a glance. Very large copies are skipped, never cut short.
Pause any time
One click stops recording. Nothing copied while paused is saved or queued for later.
Skips private copies
Copies that apps mark as private, as most password managers do, are never saved. You can exclude any app too.
Fits your Windows
Light, dark and high-contrast themes, display scaling, multiple monitors and screen readers.
Privacy
Your clipboard is personal. It stays that way.
A clipboard history sees everything you copy. Imbak is built so that history never leaves your computer.
- Local only. History is stored in your Windows user profile. Imbak has no servers to send it to.
- No account, no tracking. No sign-up, no analytics, no ads.
- You decide when it records. Nothing is saved until you turn recording on, and you can pause or clear it at any time.
- Private copies are skipped. Imbak respects the Windows marker that password managers use to keep copies out of clipboard history.
Detection of private copies depends on the app you copy from, so it can't be guaranteed. When in doubt, pause recording. Read the full privacy policy.

FAQ
Questions
Does Imbak send my clipboard anywhere?
No. Your history is stored only on your PC, and the app has no servers to send it to. Pro licences are checked on your PC too, so there's no online activation. The only thing Imbak fetches is a small file from this site, once a day, to check for updates. It contains nothing about you, and you can turn it off in Settings.
How is it different from Windows' own clipboard history (Win+V)?
Windows keeps your last 25 items. Imbak keeps as much as you like, searches all of it as you type, pastes back into the app you were using, and adds favorites and snippets.
Which versions of Windows does it support?
Imbak is built for Windows 11 and also runs on Windows 10 (64-bit).
Does it save images or files?
The free version saves text. With Pro, or during the free trial, Imbak also keeps screenshots and copied images, and the formatting of text from Word, Outlook, browsers and Slack. Copied files aren't saved.
Windows says it "protected your PC". Is the download safe?
Windows SmartScreen shows that warning, with "Unknown publisher", for new apps that aren't signed with a paid certificate yet. Make sure the file is Imbak-setup.exe downloaded from this site, click More info, then Run anyway. The installer needs no administrator rights and installs only for your Windows account. The Microsoft Store version, coming soon, installs without the warning.
How do updates work?
Imbak checks for a new version once a day and tells you when one is ready. Nothing is installed until you choose Install in Settings; Imbak then closes, updates and starts again, with your history and settings kept. Every update is signed, and Imbak refuses any that isn't.
Why didn't it paste into one app?
Windows doesn't let normal apps type into programs running as administrator. In that case Imbak tells you and leaves the text on the clipboard so you can press Ctrl V yourself.
Can I get a refund on Pro?
Yes, within 30 days of purchase, no questions asked. See the refund policy.
